How are you going to check your decisions?

Hello guys,
So with 29 hours before decisions come out ...
Where will you be tomorrow 9:00pm EST?
How do you plan on checking your decision? With whom? With a family, friend, alone?

I'll be with my best friend and my brother. Afterwards we will go out to eat or something.

I just wanna check it alone, but I think my parents are gonna insist on watching the computer screen. If I do get accepted, there’s gonna be a party, but if not, probably just sleep before exams on Friday…

Hmm, good question. It’s been so long since I’ve finished my homework before 9, I forgot what I do at that time. lolol, hackey sack it is.

I have a swim meet till 6:30. I’ll look at the screen by myself and wake my parents up if I get in. If not, studying for a stats test, haha

^ just wondering, are you planning on swimming for mit?

I have an orchestra rehearsal until 9 so all have to wait until I get home from that. It’s going to be the longest rehearsal ever.

Well I was going to do intramural. I was debating about swimming for the actual team, but I doubt I would stay with it after a while.

Plus I would feel bad if I got recruited and got in, and then ended up not following through on it.

^ yea i’m kinda wanna try out crew, but im already in contact with MIT’s swim coach, how are your times? (in yards)

Not so hot, haha

500 free: 8:33
100 breast: 1:53
50 free: :33

Yeaaa, I’m slow xD

^ fasho haha, are you a girl or guy?

I looked at MIT’s swimming times, and im probably only faster than 1 guy for my events. I go a 4:55 500 and a 1:48 200 free

Guy, haha. I’m def not the best or most intense swimmer. I just really like it and happen to be not too bad at it xD

DAMN, that’s a fast 500. Like, even in my league, 5:30 or so is the best. In my defense, I was thrown in that last year half way through and didn’t get to practice it much xD. I want to bring it down to at least the low 7 high 6 range this year.

i’m going to check it alone. tell my parents if i got accepted, otherwise avoid the subject until i’m ready to tell them.

@tmanneopen –> i just noticed, everytime i open up a thread, your name is always there lol.

Yea, I’ve been procrastinating heavily, haha. Plus this would be like the coming of Jesus if I got in. I have so many things for me and against me, so I’m reaaaaaly anxious. I mean I have literally my whole school rooting for me. A bunch of people said they would cry if I didn’t get in. It’s crazy. I just hope they can be satisfied as well as I :D

@HaloShots & others: I swim too! My best event is 200 fly, which is a 1:59 from last year’s champ meet. I would love to tell you lots of other fast times, but I broke my elbow two weeks ago, causing me to miss our tapered December meet. I am unspeakably ****ed, because I had been throwing out some really fast freestyle times in practice. My best 200 Free add-up this year (broken at each 50) was 1:41. That’s cool to know that there are other athletes applying, especially swimmers!

@tmanneopen: I’m in a similar position, only If I don’t get in, various people owe me a total of 80 dollars and 2 chicken sandwiches. Lolol

Niiice xD Damn, I should’ve made bets. Bets too late for tomorrow? haha

I’m getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow, so I’m hoping awake/cognizant at 6 o’clock (I live on the west coast). I am just going to check on my own and then let my family know. One other boy from my school applied so I’m sure we will compare results too.

Except you won’t be rejected if you believe and have hope. :)
