How are you organizing college stuff?

I'm in the process of making my college lists, comparing and cross-checking things like tuition, campus, fin aid, student life, selectivity, priority status, etc and I'm looking for a good way to organize all the info. I thought about an excel spreadsheet but it's not really working.

How are you guys keeping track of all this stuff?

For now, I’m just making a mental note of things. I saved a list of scholarships I found in a doc but that’s all so far. I should probably start working on something more serious.

I’ve made an excel doc for a list of scholarships I’m applying for… But for colleges, I just made a list on my phone. There’s no point worrying about tuition and stuff until you get accepted. Once your acceptance letters come in, THEN you have to make that decision of which one is worth it. All you have to do right now is just figure out where to apply.

@letmeseetheworld‌ and @imagineer10‌, where do you guys search for scholarships? How do you find them?

I surf through the CC threads on Financial Aid and Scholarships. I make note of the major ones that offer large sums of money and schools that have good fin aid that I might be interested in. I’ve also been on fastweb.com and ■■■■■■■■■■ and make note of other major scholarships I might be eligible for. I guess once I get further in junior year I’ll also start paying attention to other scholarships that don’t offer as much. Every penny counts. Good luck :o3

I made a preliminary list for my potential colleges that included basic info like whether or not they offered EA/ED, etc. I also included application fee, required LORs, subject tests, acceptance rates, and what I generally thought to be my chances. Now I’m going to have a more detailed list for the colleges I’m actually interested in and (on Microsoft Word) write down everything I research about the school. These things will be more specific like whether it’s good for my intended major, campus vibe, greek life, etc. and it’ll be information I get online through research, through CC posts, etc.

I do have a separate list for scholarships. Sometimes I just bookmark it on Chrome. Sometimes I just save the link on Microsoft Word.
