how are you paying for NYU?

how are you all expecting to pay if you get in...isn't it like 47,000 a year?! Does NYU give lot's of money?

NYU is #1 for students least satisfied with financial aid.

I'm getting loans and my parents are wealthy...they want me to go to a top school, so NYU is worth it to them and me.

NYU, I'm fairly sure is no different than other private or OOS schools. This myth that NYU is much more expensive than other schools in the same catagory--is just that a myth. NYC is expensive. But so are the cities of boston, chicago, etc. The game plan still has the same choices. Family $$, loans, need based aid, or merit aid, and of course a combo of them.

what about the familes like mine who aren't rich enough to pay over 40K a year to send their kid to school, but not poor enough to qualify for financial aid.
My family is pretty well off, but I have three siblings who need to go to school too...

Today I was just at Barnard and they had this financial aid info. session, and the lady went into an elaborate speech on it.. very informative. I'm in the same predicament as you also, and my brother just recently entered college so its more stressful for my parents to be able to pay for me later on and I'm looking at NYU and my dad is sweating a bit, trying to make me look a way lol, but I'm enthralled.

I don't know if you have heard, but school based financial aid is not the only way to go, you could get government financial aid though fafsa.ed.gov that should gain you about a couple of thousands, and those are general. You could do a CSS profile which is more in depth, asking questions about bills and payments and medical bills and everything other forms wouldn't ask you about. Im preety sure you know this, I'm just want to share it with someone lol.

I'm sure if you really want to go you would find your way by doing some sort of scholarship, or finding loans or dancing.. lol j/k I would do lots of stuff to get into STERN.

Lol um.....

NYU doesn't participate in CSS.

Dad's paying for mine.

I guess I'll just have to dance on 42nd st in between classes

haha

My mom's right arm and both my Dad's legs

^^more like my mom' first born....I always wanted to be an only child.
