Ok if your school does not offer an ap test are you taking it at another school, are any of you taking it alone like just you.
How are they doing the proctor fees who will proctor it?

I live in manhattan, and it was hard for me to find a school willing to administer microeconomics for me. But finally i convinced my school to give it to me. Im a sophmore, and there cant be more than a thousand sophmores taking the test, maybe less. My school offers like 1 AP... so, ill be paying the proctor fees, a teacher will proctor it... thats it, just talk to your principal, they get things done

i wish my teacher laughed and said that will be $35-40/hour and i said oh fudge (not lierally but you get it).
but seriously this is so messed up and im very very very angry.
$35 that's $105 for 3 hours for sitting on a chair and reading directions from a book.
ohh, im just never lucky life blows

I am trying to selfstudy AP Psych (my school--private-- only offers regular psych). The college board gave me phone # for some local schools (also private) that gave the test last year, but they do not allow outside students. Luckily, I called my public school system i found a local public high school. I still have to pay the registration and test fee, but I wont have to pay for the proctor. Call your local school system.

Odd. All I had to do was go to the finance office at my school, request the AP psych exam (which I'm self-studying for since my school doesn't offer it), and that was it. I just have to go at the right time on the right day, and they'll have it for me.

Pah, east-coast schools making it more difficult than it has to be. =p

ok i called CB, and he said it is illegal, And wrong (that's right this is for all of you to know so you dont get jimped) that your school which you go to if they administer the ap exam to charge you or any test taker any money he said its the schools job, if they have the ap proogram or there violating Cb policy, and i assume that means Cb can through them of from the administration list.
So in summary your school cant charge you more then $83 so anybody who pays there school and that is if your testing at your school they may not charge more then $83. Its illegal. Against CB policy. Thanks CB.
However if you go to there website and test at another school aparantly your fair game they can charge you any bizre fee because your there "guest" and they dont have to give you the exam, and its a compromise.
As stuped as that is (the fact other schools can charge your cant) its still good to know that my school cant do anything about it.
Just how do i tell my cordinator she's really nuts.

oh yeah i forgot to mention the $83 already includes that $8 proctor fee.
Just like the sat's you pay and everything is included $83 includes everything and your school isnt allowed to charge more. But if you change schools (like on sat you would pay a change school fee, or what ever it's called) the same is for Ap.
now i just have to tell my cordinater
Sigh!!
