I'm going to be a high school senior in 5 days, and my transcript is making me question a lot of things. If someone could just tell me how bad my chances are, it would help me decide where I should apply or not.

Overall Average: 85.3
Credits: 47.9
Volunteering: I've spent over 200 hours volunteering at CPA and a Child Advocacy Center working with sexually/physically abused kids.
SAT: Will be taking it on October 1st, but I took a mock SAT at my school two weeks ago and I got 1920. I haven't studied much, so I assume I could've brought it up, but so be it.
ACT: Do not plan on taking it.

Thank you to anyone who can give me a honest opinion.

1920 is good for Binghamton, just make sure you get at least that, preferably higher, on the real one. Your lack of ECs and lower GPA might work against you but the EC you do have is a fantastic one and it could make a winning essay.

If you are low income, then try to get an SAT score between 1000-1200 (for math and reading only). You’ll stand a great chance for Binghamton EOP

What do you mean when you say lack of ECs? I’ve also participated in several school clubs, etc. I didn’t think that would come under EC. Do you mean I should’ve had more hours?

And I guess from your over-all opinions, I shouldn’t be applying to Bing then. I’m not exactly low income (my parents make 50k a year) but they don’t exactly want to pay for my education, therefore I’m forced to take the burden alone.

What I meant was, you only listed one EC up there. But if you have more, list those too! School clubs definitely count. An EC is basically anything done outside of class. So if you’ve done sports, school plays or musicals, clubs, etc. Those all count.

Oh, alright. Sorry about that then. I’ve been in 3 school clubs, plus I work as an assistant in the Social Studies Department (grading quizzes, or making photocopies on my free time). Thank you so much for your help though.
