I don't really have a lot of ECs and at the same time I'm Asian so it kind of looks bad. Anyways, based on what I have so far, how weak / okay is it? Should I bulk up? I'm just hoping to get into a decent college like Syracuse or UMD CP and that these would be enough.

ECs:
Yearbook - 2 years (Editor this year, staffer last year).
Soccer - 3 years (JV 2 years, Varsity 1)
Key Club - 2 years (I never really paid the fee so I don't know if it counts lol...)
SGA Officer - 2 years
Science National Honors Society - 2 years (Running for a position this year)
National Honors Society - Applying this year because I didn't have enough hours.

To be honest, they aren’t bad. They are just pretty run-of-the-mill, similar to the 100 billion other high school students that join clubs and play a sport. So they won’t keep you out, but they probably won’t help you get in.

They aren’t HYPSM caliber, but, of course, we aren’t all cancer researchers and math geniuses… So don’t be discouraged! They’ll be fine for any decent college.

What exactly are considered HYPSM caliber extracurricular activities?

They’re amazing. ECs aren’t that important. Get over it. Honestly.

Well, they’re better than the average high school student’s…They’re very SLIGHTLY below the avg. applicant to the top colleges.

BTW, NHS / SHS / Key Club mean next to nothing unless you’ve actually done something meaningful in those clubs.
