How bad are two C’s look in my sophomore year of high school

Hi.
I am currently a sophomore in high school.
I have gotten one C both semesters in one class: Honors Algebra 2. This semester, I’m on track to get all A’s except for Honors Algebra 2.

I know this is bad but it’s mainly not because I got lazy, but because I was not prepared for high school life. As soon as I went into in-person, after school was online, life changed. I was under a lot of stress from this sudden change in work life for the entire year and I couldn’t handle it. I tried my best on tests and all the reassessments but it just was not enough.

I have gotten a mix of A’s and B’s in first semester and in freshmen year, I got all A’s except for one B in Spanish 2 in second semester.

I want to go into computer science and would like to be accepted into a pretty decent school in-state (I live in Chicago suburbs) — IIT, UIC, and UIUC would be a reach, but I want to go into a CS + X major (School of Liberal Arts) if I do get into UIUC.

How bad do these two C’s look for my college applications?

Basically…you have ONE C grade. Colleges mostly look at the end of course grade, not each semester.

The bigger question is…have you mastered the Algebra material?

Essentially, yes. I’ve learned a lot from the material and I’ve been able to do it on my own consistently without help, but for some reason, I’m just bad at taking the tests.
