How bad do my grades have to get for them to rescind my ed2 admission decision?

I am absolutely not asking this because I want to slack off, but something very weird with my schedule may cause me to have an awful grade at the end of my trimester.

We do trimester grades at my school, but in one of our religion courses, we switch halfway through the year and so actually have the classes as semesters. BUT, they do not show up on our grades as such.

The class that I changed to is awful, the teacher plays horrible favorites and has an insanely weird grading system. We have only had two tests, and those two grades will be our only grades for the entire term. Because I did badly on one of them, it's going to completely screw up my entire grade for the marking period, and even though I know I will get it up next term, I am very worried that Vanderbilt will see a bad grade now and then rescind my decision. qill they at least give me a warning before they did that?

Vandy is assuming your grades will stay consistent. That said, if you get a “B” or two, you’ll be fine. If you’re going to do worse than that, you might want to make a call to Admissions.

It is highly unlikely that you will be rescinded due to a bad grade. If you’re worried about it, email your Vandy admissions officer (after you receive your final grade). Explain the situation. My child had a similar situation second semester senior year and Vanderbilt was very understanding. I think that, in general, schools are not looking to “unadmit” students they’ve chosen. Of course, if your grades fall dramatically in all courses this will raise an eyebrow and require an explanation. What will almost certainly get you rescinded are disciplinary issues, like being caught cheating.
