how bad do you have to do to get revoked?

i got in through EDII and my calc BC class is killing me right now. I was just wondering, what does it take to get revoked? like, grade-wise and when do they find out about your grades? from the final report or from report cards (aka "progress reports") issued by the high school? thanks

They will find out with a final report at the end of the school year. Don’t worry.

I think you’d need more than one bad grade to get revoked. I do know one person who was put on academic probation because he dropped a class (physics) after he got in ED, but that’s different than a bad grade, and i don’t think the bar was too high anyway. He did fine.

I have the same question as megamegerr, but slightly different situation.
Can your admission be revoked because of absences? Last semester I had perfect attendance, and this one… lol not so much. Think this could get my admission revoked anywhere?? Also, if you are previously a straight A student, and you get B’s in half your classes your last semester, do you think this would be enough to get you revoked? Or do you have to seriously flunk out to get it revoked? Don’t mean to sound paranoid… I’d just hate to mess up getting into college now after 12 years of school ha!

absolutely: I don’t think you have too much to worry about. If your high school isn’t concerned about your attendance, Wesleyan certainly won’t be. A few B’s is nothing to worry about, either. If you went from all A’s to B’s/C’s then yes, you’d have a problem, but a mix of A’s an B’s is fine.

what if you still have A’s in all classes except for one, where you drop from an A to a C? my math class is killlliiing meee

My math class is killing me also. ):

My son is a Wes sophomore, and got a C in AP physics due to lack of effort his second semester senior year. He did not get any kind of notice from Wes about this. I think 2 Cs or any Ds would be a different situation.

I’m not positive if this is Wes’s policy, but I heard from another school that we are expected to maintain at least a 3.0 unweighted GPA and receive no D’s or F’s. Good luck!

After stressing out about college admissions and acceptances/rejections, you guys are finding a way to freak out after an acceptance? From what I’ve heard and seen firsthand, after a college has gone through the trouble of winnowing an applicant pool down to the truly determined and committed, it would take quite a bit for that same college to revoke its admissions offer. Have fun, relax a little from school, try and catch up on 4 years of lost sleep, but don’t forget to make sure you’re at least up-to-date with work and put in some extra hours before exams. This is the easy part guys, congrats and hope to meet some of you at WesFest!

I HAVE THE SAME QUESTION TOO!!

i received an early write from the college, only two DAYS after i FAXED in the mid year report, because i forgot about it >>

BUT, my junior 2nd semester was a 4.0 and my senior 1st semester was a 3.0

I really dont know if they sent me that early write KNOWING my grades or not. One of the adcom who manages the email says that least someone HAS to sign off on the mid year report before letters can be sent out

i wonder what signoff means…like…saying its received or actually comparing it with my previous grades…

CRAP, i hope i dont rescinded when they see my final report…i think im looking at another 3.0 again…

im taking AP classes and damn i cant get an A in any class >:O…all B’s…

im asian tho…just not the typical one…think they’ll let me go easier? they try really hard to recruit diversity.

@fresca: Then wouldn’t your AP classes weigh more in the end? It’s typically pretty hard to get your acceptance rescinded. I wouldn’t worry about it. Aim for As and DO NOT get Ds.

I read on the facebook group, a rumor that some pre-frosh got their acceptances revoked at wesfest. Is there any truth to it?

Anyone know anything about IB? Like if you had a predicted 38 points (plus three for EE and TOK), what would be a “safe” score range for the final exams? I’m pretty sure that if I stay above 34 + 2 or 3, I’ll be fine, but what about like 31? 7 points is a pretty big difference. 31 is the worst possible scenario, but it’s still possible, I guess…

Im really worried about the IB thing too… im pretty sure my school overpredicted me when they sent out our grades…I have a 40 (38+2) but two weeks ago we had to take these mock exams of sorts and lets just say i did bad…RILI bad
to be clear I got a 31 and yes Im currently studying my ass off but …whats the worst case scenario Im looking at here???

I’m guessing no one can really answer our questions. But personally, I’d be okay with a 34 + 2/3 and I only had one bonus point more than you (which I doubt I’ll get). If you think about it, 34 and 38 are both a 6 average. And a 6 = an A, pretty much. What subjects are you taking, by the way?

I take Math, bio and chem HL with Spanish ab, english SL and eco SL, what about you??..I heard that you need to get within 6-8 points of ur predicted so if thats the case I’m pretty sure your in the clear =)
I on the other hand am going to start freaking out ahha. The tok and EE bit are sooo unpredictable but with even 1 point out of the 3 you should be good to go. BUt to be on the safe side START CRAMMING (easier said than done init?)

I took 7 subjects: French B HL (it’s the one that’s not going on my diploma), Bio HL (yay high five!), Chem SL (ew), Math Studies (lol), Bosnian A1 HL, English B HL (it’s pretty much my native language, oh the irony), and Psychology SL.

Wow that’s good to know; thanks!
And you’re pretty much in the clear too, just scrape up a point or two somewhere :D.
Good luck!

Woah 7 subjects is amazing!! WOOT on Bio ahah but if you think chem SL is bad, wait till you experience HL its TORTURE not even kidding. But after nearly 2 years of suffereing I guess it kinda grows on you but its still fun to whine about especially this close finals =)

Anyhooo good luck to you too!! and lets hope all works out for both of us and when(or if =S) it works out I’ll see you at Wes in September!! or on August 29 =)
