How bad does a "W" look on a high school transcript?

Okay so I'm a second semester senior and I'm taking an AP class that's pretty difficult right now (I'm at a 67, yikes).
The way my school works is that we have one semester of 4 classes and another semester of 4 completely different classes so that means I'm basically about a month into this class and if I dropped I'd get a "W" for the first quarter (we have finals every quarter).
It's a slightly more complicated system than the block, but to me it makes a little more sense.

ANYWAYS, I've applied to a bunch of schools and I was wondering how ONE "W" on my final transcript is going to affect my admissions outcomes. I understand it's better to get a B in a class than a W but is it really worse to get a W than a D?

I heard the UCs don't really care if you have a couple but I was wondering how places like Brown and Washington University in St. Louis would feel if they saw that I had a "W?"

I know people are going to say "oh, just STUDY more!" but it's difficult even with the studying; tests are hard, man.

Thank you!

Brown and WashU are going to view a W and a D alike as red flags. Either could be grounds for rescinding admission. If you’re serious about those two, put in the work and get your grade up.

Maybe you should call those colleges and ask how serious it is.
