How bad does Freshman year hurt?

In my Freshman year, I got lower GPA than I would've liked. Nothing too bad, comparatively (3.82ish), but it makes me paranoid, since I didn't have any APs or honors classes. I got some B's in P.E. and Algebra II. I'm afraid that my courseload won't be nearly difficult enough to justify the lowered GPA. Should I be worried? Thanks a lot.

not at all, i mean, as long as you show improvement you should be good, it all depends on WHERE you want to go.

Freshman year is the least important - and don't worry about PE!

i got a 3.6 and a 3.8 for my two semesters in freshman year with only one honors class. I got into some pretty good colleges (HYPM,all UCs). Freshmen year is not very important at all. Don't be worried about it! 3.82 is very good (actually my final UW GPA was a 3.85 because of my freshman year). Keep it up!

"I got into some pretty good colleges (HYPM..."
Oh, please.
You make it sound as if there's some place higher to go.

im sorry, but i am one of the people who thinks that freshman year actually counts. i think schools look at (maybe not as much as junior year or something) to see how you've made the transition from junior high to high school. i think the grades matter more than people think.

there's a four year gap between entering high school and entering college and therefore freshman year does not matter. contrary to what the poster above me stated (no offense), some people learn in high school and may adapt differently in the beginning of high school than in the beginning of college; from these experiences, students can apply themselves in their first year of college.

i just realized that i didn't make sense.
but if you understood me, then more power to you
