I have received mostly A's and have been in many AP and honor classes. However, during my junior year, I got sick and had to drop AP Physics.
First semester I had a B, and then I dropped it to advanced physics and got an A. How badly will this affect my admissions to the UC's, such as UCLA?

if this is your only B, i’m sure you can cloak it beneath a veneer of good SATs, outstanding recs and great ECs

even if you don’t get any of the above, which is highly unlikely, i doubt that UCLA will care about ONE B

Well, I am not really worried about the B, but the fact that I had to drop the class. How does that look in your opinion?

i dont think u should worry too much…i got like 6 B’s and i was still accepted into UCLA (im going there this fall!!!)…as for the drop, you have an excuse and can explain it on your application but i would just let it go…there’s nothing u can do now…probably the only thing u can do now is it study for improved SAT’s, Do some EC’s during the summer, and pray for good AP scores (even though they do not affect admissions) to up your chances

laserbase, can you post your stats?

B U M P

were you applying to privates, the dropping would look much worse than the B.. but for UCs, the B is worse.. and if this is your only B you have NOTHING to worry about

good luck!

if u want to see my stats just go to the NEW Stats Profile thingy on the left…u should find me under UCLA 2008 as a status of “Will Attend”…if u want i can send u my entire application LOL
