I am extremely disappointed with my sat scores. 1970. and a 6 in essay total. i never thought i would do this bad. i was expecting 800 in math and i didnt even get that.
my scores are:
math-780 (1 wrong)
critical reading-600
writing-590 (with 7 wrong and 6 in essay)
i wanted to apply to other top universities like caltech and uchicago. now i dont think i will.
how bad is that score for berkeley?
note: i applied to college of letters and sciences-undeclared.

The overall average is 2050, higher for engineering and other highly sought after majors.

i was an international sat taker and currently live outside the U.S. but my citizenship is U.S. by birth. if that matters in anyway.
I chose college of letters and sciences-undeclared. i want to major in physics btw.

A 1970 won’t take you out of the running. If you have top grades/rank and interesting ECs, they could carry it for you. UCB needs lots of internationals (and OOS which you are) this year, they need the money, so it will also help a lot if you’re from a country they don’t get many applicants from.

If you want to major in physics, why didn’t you put that as your major? I believe that Berkeley said somewhere that applying undeclared is more difficult than applying to a regular major.
