How bad is a 770 and should I retake?

<p>don't waste your time retaking it...a 770 is a great score and getting 10-30 points higher isn't going to drastically change your chances for admission</p>

<p>I understand that it can be a little frustrating when you are so close to prefect, but seriously, it's still excellent, and I wouldn't retake it because you could actually do worse.</p>

<p>wxmann i also got a 770 today, in chem. i was unbelievably thrilled...until i got on cc and saw all the 800s. it's still a great score</p>

<p>also, does anybody know that 'good day vs. bad day' score range? ie. a difference of x score pretty much depends on 'luck'...</p>

<p>I agree with Snake, that's so sad... SAT scores mean nothing outside of college applications, and from statistics and the experiences of my classmates who have been admitted to prestigious colleges this year, all you need is above 700 to prove your knowledge. 770 is a score to admire, and I hope that you can see it the same way. Your strive for perfection is also admirable, but it can break you.</p>

<p>News flash, subject tests mean hardly anything unless you bomb them, which you didn't by scoring over 700. Good Job.</p>

World History - 780
US History - 770
Chemistry - 770 </p>

<p>There many interesting things in the world to learn and experience. Test preparation is not interesting, and I prefer to spend as little time on it as possible.</p>
