How bad is a B?

How much does getting a few Bs impact college chances? My sophomore year I got a couple Bs in a few subjects I'm normally pretty good at. However, were honors classes. I know colleges want to see all As in all classes, no matter what the level, but I tried my best and spent so much time working on assignments for these classes, but I still ended up with Bs. Do colleges understand that sometimes a B is the best you can do, or will this affect admission decisions? I still have my junior year, but I'm not sure I'm going to manage to pull off straight As this year either.

I'm not sure what to do, I'm really worried this is going to keep me from getting into the colleges I want to because I'm not getting the grades I thought I would.

Where did you apply?

It’s all about what school’s you’re aiming for. If its top 20 schools and other kids in your grade can get straight A’s, then yes a B isn’t so good. If you’re just aiming for a state school or some above average school, focus on junior year, try to ace it, and you’ll be competitive for some scholarships.

That would shown in your GPA.

Yes and yes.
