I received one B during my junior year, and I'd really like to know how it hurts my chances of getting into University of Michigan! I've done pretty well in high school so far and have gotten As and a couple of A-s. Any advice would really help! Thanks!

With a B, you could cure cancer and still get deferred from Michigan STATE!

Relax! Most folks admitted to the university had a few B’s in high school. As long as you’re taking the most rigorous classes available (or close to it), a few B’s are fine.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the support! I really appreciate it ! :)

Hi NerdyKid! I got 3 Bs my first semester of sophomore year but straight As for all other semesters of high school (for reference my GPA is a 3.93 UW and around a 4.5 weighted), and I was accepted to University of Michigan (out of state) early about a month ago. So I think you’ll be fine :)

Hi Ultrachromatic! Congrats!!! That’s wonderful And thanks for the encouragement! I was pretty unsure at first, but thanks to all of the reassurances, I feel a lot better about it! Good luck at UMich!

Aww thank you! (I’m actually probably going to attend University of Chicago and not UMich, but I’m still definitely considering the latter!) Just try to keep up your grades for the remainder of high school, and I think you’ll be in a great position to get into UMich. Good luck on your apps! :)

A B is akin to walking into downtown Pyongyang naked wrapped in the American flag and singing the Star-Spangaled Banner at the top of your lungs.
