My school’s first semester ends in about two weeks and I’ll most likely have two C’s on my report card because of an art class and a film class. My school uses a quarter system and in the first quarter I got mostly A’s with a couple B’s, in the second quarter I’ve had major personal issues that have really affected my grades in those two classes. Is getting a C first semester of senior year really bad? Should I contact admissions for the schools I applied to and like explain the poor grade? I am mostly worried about this affecting my ability to receive merit scholarships.
Those are the final grades shown in your record considered by admissions. Cs are not good but also not something to make you radioactive. Talk to your GC about your issues and perhaps they can help in explaining.
@“Erin’s Dad” I hadn’t considered that! I’ll definitely talk to the college counselor at my school, thank you sm for the reply!
