I will be completing my math requirement for transfer in the spring. I was taking math this semester but I withdrew. Does anyone know if this is going to hurt my chances for the top UC's? I am a history major by the way.

For a history major I doubt if it will make much difference.

Yep, your chances are shot. You might as well pack it in.

(jk, I'm just in a weird mood after seeing so many "how bad is it going to hurt me" and "omg, how much should I write for essay #3!?" on yahoo answers)

Anyway, I asked a UC Berkeley admissions rep this, in person, and she told me that if it is listed as planned, or already completed, it makes no difference for ANY major.

I've read in several places that it shouldn't matter at all! As long as you say that you're planning to take the course, it should be fine.

Thanks guys, hearing that is a bit of a relief. I'll be so happy when this whole admissions thing is over.

Despite what others have said, I've always assumed that it hurts you. This semester I have been working under the assumption that I absolutely have to pass my english class this semester, because with my history of english withdrawls I can't imagine them expecting me to pass it in the spring.

if you already completed the math requirement through igetc, then it probably won't play a major factor unless your major gpa is low
