how bad is it to get a "C"?

I'm anticipating getting my first C in college, after getting As up to this point..simply because the material is difficult for me. I'm in my last semester here at my local 2-year so I'll be transferring to a 4-year next fall. I'm just stressing out because I feel like I'm not doing as well as I should and that I'm hoping the schools that accepted me won't rescind me later on.

Should I be worried or even be stressing out over potentially nothing?

A “C” isn’t terrible or a career killer. But depending on what you got it in makes a difference. If it’s a foundations class for your major and you need to understand the material, you need to get some help from the professor to clear things up. If it’s just a random gen ed that you’re never going to study again, I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s not going to hurt your transfer opportunity if you’ve gotten all A’s up to this point. Plus, grades don’t usually transfer, just credits.

If your acceptance is dependent on maintaining a specific GPA, which you won’t be able to do with a C, then I guess it would be pretty bad. Otherwise, not so much…

None of the schools that I got accepted to specifically stated a required GPA as a condition, just not drop any classes that I put down as ‘in progress’. The class is required for my major but after this class I’ll never need to take another class in the same subject again.

Drop the class.
