Ok, so I came into UCLA with really high hopes. Then I got sick for like a month and a half in college and I could barely speak. I did terribly in school. I feel like I met barely few people. I have very few friends. Now I'm in the second quarter, and I feel like I know NOBODY in my classes. Do you think it is awkward to try to make friends now? Everybody seems to have their own circle of friends, and I don't feel like I can make friends. It is basically like I'm a freshman who just walked onto UCLA, thats how bad my social situation is right now. Also some of the premed kids are really stuck-up, but it really isnt that big of a deal to me. Suggestions? I don't have that much time btw because I'm premed, lol.

I suggest you join organizations related to your interests, ethnicity, or religion. You said you’re premed, so look for premed organizations, and there must be other things too. That’s the best way to meet people.

Make friends in your classes. It’s the easiest to do right now since its the start of a new quarter. And I agree with namaste as well.
