I really want to get into Johns Hopkins BME, Cal tech, Harvard, Stanford, Washington U in St.L, but I am petty such that I messed my self up to much with my grades...
/
Do you think there is any REALISTIC way I could make these grades up? Would a 2400 SAT, 7 5s on different APS, major writing awards, isef, what?

That’s going to be hard. Your grades since 2nd sem are really stellar.

I think you need to address these issues head on in your essays. If you knock out great essays which address this well, and have stellar recs which also touch on your improvement, I’d say you have a good chance at WUSTL, and lesser ivies. Caltech, Harvard, Stanford are still going to be rough.

Wow, great way to rebound. I think for sure WashU will take you (my friend had 2 Bs 1st sem senior year and a rough go freshman year and still got in), and possibly even JHU, but unfortunately, Harvard and Stanford aren’t gonna tolerate a C, regardless of whatever you do to make it up. Are all those credentials at the bottom already done, or are you asking what you need to do, little bit confusing. If you did those, Cornell or some other low Ivy will definitely consider you. Good luck!

By the way, how tough is your school? That’s a LOT of pre-APs and other hard classes you took early on.

Since you are saying senior 1st and 2nd semester. I imagine these grades are supposed. You should not expect straight As if you have been getting grades like you have been through high school. It’s possible, but pretty unlikely.

His sophomore 2nd semester grades, junior, and senior year grades are projected

^^^Sorry those things at the bottom was me asking what I should do.

And yeah my school is very tough…you are required to take AP classes through out your grades (well not freshman but every one else yes)

if you have a good reason for your low grades freshman and sophomore years, it shouldn’t hurt you too much since you’ve done better. even if there was no reason, the upward trend will help make up for it a lot. unless you have a good excuse it kind of takes you out of the running for super selective schools like Caltech, Harvard, and Stanford, but since you brought them up and if you have good ECs and test scores, you could still have good chances at other selective schools :)

It’s extremely unlikely that you’ll become a straight A student overnight, but you know, good luck. Good luck with that 2400 as well.

Logging out of CC and doing some actual studying might help, by the way.

That’s untrue about “Harvard won’t tolerate a C” What idiot told you that?

^ Common Sense.

Eeek, as much as colleges admire upward improvement… with some of your underclassman grades, a majority of those colleges won’t cut to much slack…
I mean you still have a shot at JHU and washU, but make sure you emphasize why your grades were low, what you learned, and how you brought them up in your essays.
Remember that all these colleges reject hundreds-thousands of qualified applicants every year.
Anyway, good luck to you!

JHU (biophysics major) deffered me for ED with all A+'s 10th and 11th grade, 9th grade I had one B and 3 B+'s and the rest A’s and A+'s. I’m not sure you have a chance BME since that is the hardest major to get into.

^But also one thing to look at is what were your scores? APs? awards? how was your essay? There are other factors into this

What [thread=1067964]These where my stats[/thread] Then what would you think?

Please reply to that post with chances and all other stuff here! As in act like that was a senior and then come back here and talk about it…

Stop making these threads
You’re making up your grades from sophomore second semester on and NONE of that is likely
How the hell could you get a 2400 with your horrid grammar?
STOP. Come back in two years with real stats.

Don’t use others stats as a chance. That’s low character there.

@futurepresident This thread was made before the one on HSL

@Mit What?

The stats you used, I know they are from another user’s. That’s sad.

^stalker!!!

umm actually I was selected by NASA to intern with them, and they are currently using my ideas to make potential patents. I am an AP scholar, and am taking the hardest course load for a senior. AP Bio, AP Physics C, AP Lit, AP French, AP Calc BC, AP Macro… I think grades to play a huge role in JHU admissions. I have stellar EC’s, oh i forgot to mention I was the Host for a community event, I taught a class in my high school, and am part of Honor society. My GPA was a 3.61… which I believe truly was the reason I was deferred to regular decision.
