How bad is physics 33-131?

So I am trying to chose between taking 33-111 (physics for scientists) and 33-131 (matter and interaction). I really love physics, work hard, and do want an in depth understanding. I thought AP physics C was fine (got a 5), but I know 131 will be significantly harder. I also don't want to destroy my gpa/overwhelm myself in my first semester of college. I am a CS major.

Is it possible to get an A in that class, and how many hours per week will that take?
Which class would you recommend taking? How are the respective professors?

One of my friends took the high interest physics course and loved it. He was in MechE, and while I don’t think it found it terribly hard he said it was really interesting.

I wouldn’t advise taking such a hard class in your first semester. Even if you finished first in your high school, you will be working 3x as hard at CMU for a much lower GPA (I was 4th in my high school class and I got a 2.5 my first semester at CMU with the same work ethic) so like it or not you have to take a semester to get adjusted to your new study habits/workload. There’s no reason to rush through your courses unless you want to graduate early.
