I often read that the South is more a party area. I, however, am completely anti-party.
I understand parties can be on the North too, but I am trying to limit noise as much as possible-- given the chance.

I am likely to enter the Smith-Steeb hall (Scholars), but I need a bit more informational about the area (or hall) to decide.

Will I be surrounded by jocks or loud noises every night?

Thanks!

South campus dorms have a self-perpetuating reputation for being the place to live if you want to party, and thus incoming freshmen who want that experience sign up for those dorms. That said, honors and scholars dorms tend to be a little quieter, and the students more academically-focused. A lot of your experience will just depend on the other people assigned to live on your floor. You may have loud, partying roommates and floor-mates, you may not.
