I am a direct admit Kelley freshman. I got a 70% on my first project of an art class. I honestly don't like art nor do I understand what my teacher is looking for. If I get lucky I can somehow end up with a B- but I don't want to run the risk of getting anything lower than that. Does a W look that bad that it is not worth dropping? I heard GPA doesn't matter after you first job, so wouldn't dropping a Gen Ed art class matter even less?

Also, I would still have enough credits if i dropped, and I would see about taking up another class if I could.

Drop it and don’t take any more art classes.

A “W” in an art class won’t hurt a business major at all. GPA is very important in getting interviews with good companies. Get the highest gpa you can your first two years at IU because grading gets really difficult in the upper level Kelley classes, so build a good buffer for when your last two years.

If you want to get two very easy credits, sign up for one of the “Current issues in undergrad life” U212 courses. These classes are designed to keep students who had to drop classes at their full-time course load for scholarship/financial aid purposes. Use the grade distribution to find one that is being taught by the same person again (I recommend the one taught by Medrano). Many of them meet only one day a week. Great for boosting your gpa.
