haha just preparing myself for tommw morning! So people...how bad is it?

very very harsh...if you miss even 1 it could down to 770

Ahhhhhhhhh

wait...but as you go further and further down in terms of questions answered and questions correct does the scoring get easier or not at all?

i dunno about the 1c, but on the 2c, you can get a raw score of 41-42/50 and still receive an 800...in fact on the collegeboard's site, (and my score report) they say that receiving an 800 places you in the 88th percentile. that'll give you an idea of how many people receive 800s.

omg! so it isnt as hard as it seems once you've covered all the material?

it isnt that its not hard, its just that the better students take it rather than the 1c, and so the percentage of students who get 800s is higher because the number of math-challenged people taking IIc is really low

Ahhh! I still can't decide which one to take!

Take IIc
You'll probably get a higher score
And it'll look better

Yah, I regret taking the 1C rather than the IIC (though it's moot since I took 4 SAT II's and the other three were better...)

More than 3 wrong has a good likelihood of knocking you out of the 700's entirely...(didn't happen to me, but you know ;) )

i took 1c and ended up in the 97th percentile
its easy material, just study and pace yourself, rather than skipping questions on 2c.
then again, if i had the motivation to learn the stuff on 2c i probably would have taken 2c.

arbiter - wow. Where did you find this out?? Because then 1C is totally out for me; I'm horrible w/stupid mistakes.

Most of us should already know the material on the Math IIc though.
It goes up to Pre Calculus I believe, which most of us finish our junior year.

Sample curves in the back of my review books, plus I got 3 wrong and got a 720?

Yeah... some of us took that 2 years ago, though. :) Ah well, I'll review some.

The curve must be harsh. After getting a 710 SAT I Math, I had high hopes for Math IC. Sadly, I got a 650. The curve is definately harsh!

Math II is a lot easier because of the curve, and the questions are quite easy if you know how to work the inverse trig functions on your calculator and keep your quadrants straight. It's funny how the harder math gets, the easier the tests are - absolutely everyone whom I have talked to about the test has gotten a 5 on Calc BC.

I took the Ic two years ago too nelle, lol.

umm, that's because you go to a school where people cringe over a 790 on Math c2, whoamg. That's not that common, lol.

Oh, and I was talking about taking Precalc/Trig 2 years ago, arbiter. I had no idea that I could have taken the subject test then - I go to a public hs where we have three-semester Algebra I classes... so by the time I actually knew what a subject test was, I was taking AP Calc w/a class of seniors. :)

So for people who have taken 2c, what topics should I review?

Basically everything through limits--so that includes basically all of Alg II, (functions, etc.) Precal, Trig, etc. I recommend the Barron's book if you want to buy a review book--it way overprepares you and gives you nice formulas to put in your calculator, so when you actually get to the test, it's a piece of cake. :)
