How bad is this? Not too bad?

My son is applying ED to a school we are all in love with. We think his chance of acceptance is pretty good. The school is a match, and they are known for accepting a high percentage of ED applicants. The other day son mentioned that he had mistakenly sent in the double-spaced version of his supplement essay. It was the edited, final version, but it was double-spaced! Of course, his Common App essays were single spaced. This was just an oversight at the last moment. What do all of you think? Big deal or not? I guess it's too late to send a single-spaced verrsion now. The decision comes on Dec 15th.

Not at all a big deal. Don’t bother “worrying” about it. Last year, my son printed his app in 14 pt. and maybe even had in double spaced. he got in…top school too!

Gee, my friend asked Umich when he applied whether to double or single space, they laughed at him and said it didn’t matter but double might be easier to read, and I double spaced all my essays and got in everywhere I applied.

On the online app for Umich where you could type in (or copy-paste) your essay and they automatically formatted it for you, I think it double spaced it.

I just love collegeconfidential! Thanks for the replies!

Lol. Stress is clearly running high.

Oh my goodness, posts like this bring back memories of last year’s application-season stress! :o:D
Hang in there, francie – less than a month left, and then you can climb down off those pins and needles. Good luck to your son!

yeah, then you can join the threads about how to survive your child’s freshman year in college  (which, fortunately, most of us seem to do, um, eventually, LOL)

Francie- I can relate to this. Just about this time last year we were stressing out because D made a mistake on the part of the application where you self report your SAT scores. She ended up sending the school and email about it and they said no big deal.

Good luck to your son!
