Alright, so I applied to Pitt towards the beginning of November with the following stats:

In-State
3.2 w 3.1 uw GPA due to 2.3 in 9th grade (3.5 in 10th and 3.8 in 11th grade).
No Class Rank at my high school

SAT's: 2090. Reading: 700, Math: 690, Writing: 700

EC's: NHS, Lit Mag, Ski/Snowboard Club, Worked @ a grocery store for 2 years, Went to Japan for a month as an exchange student, a couple of others.

Classes: 4 AP's (Physics, English, US History, US Government), 5 Honors Courses.

Only have two years of a language (Japanese, 11th and 12th) but I have gotten consistent A's, plus I went there this summer. Also 11th grade was the first year it was available.

One very good letter of recommendation.

Decent essay.

So today I got a letter saying they want to see my Mid-Year grades, and basically I'm wondering what I can do at this point to maximize my chances of getting in.

A few things: I retook the SAT's in November and got a 2130: M: 710 CR: 700 W: 720, so hopefully these will help. Also, I got almost straight A's the first marking period (and I'm not sure whether they received my grades or not). I got one B, and it was in AP US Government.

So I guess I'm wondering if I should ask for any new recommendations, and if so from who? I applied to the college of Engineering and my only letter was from an English teacher, so should I ask a science teacher? Or perhaps my guidance counselor? Also, could visiting help my chances?

I definitely regret not applying earlier :(

Thanks!
