Hi,
I was just wondering, how bad will my SAT's and EC's hurt me? I only got a 1950 on my 2nd try, and compared to other students in my grade (I've heard students from the same school are competing with each other) it is really bad. Most of my classmates have 2100 + on their SATs. And i don't really have much Extracurricular activities, again, compared to my classmates it is probably the bare minimum. But the thing is, my GPA is not that bad, probably top 15% (?), my courses are somewhat rigorous as well. I'm just really worried that my SAT + ECs will hurt me a lot.
Btw, i'm applying to the UC's, CMU, U Illinois, and possibly Brown.

UC’s put a lot of emphasis on standardized test scores so you will definitely have to pull up your socks for the SAT. I know people with lower SAT scores than you that got into Brown so don’t stress but the lack of EC’s will affect your application at Brown.

I can’t say much regarding U Illinois but what I said for the UC’s applies for CMU as well.
Overall, you can’t go much about your EC’s now, but work on those SAT’s if you want a good shot at getting into those colleges! Good luck!
