How bad will this hurt me?

I just found out I made a 71 in AP English for the semester due to the 0 I got on my final (Yeh, read the wrong book)

How much will this effect my chances into ivy schools?
Should I maybe write a letter explaining my situation (I'll tell my GC to send it with my Midyear Report)... I know its dumb on my part... but I mean I made 95's each six weeks, and I passed only because of that

Any advice would be grand.
peace

You didn't talk to your English teacher about this? And how did you read the wrong book?

I selected one book (we tell her a week early), but read another on accident....

I dont know man, I just had a lot of finals going on.. and stressed out.. I'm sure you know how that goes..

I guess she thought I was slacking off... which I kinda was and I read the book the night before not Knowing I was reading the wrong one

So yeh

wow...that's harsh!

If you write a letter, it'll be even more awkward explaining how you only started reading the book the night before.

well does it really matter?
I'll just say that I read the wrong book for my final (I thought the book was titled As I lay dying..like the band.. but it was A Lesson before dying.....) ... lol so incredibly stupid.

i made 95's in the stupid class and because of MY error I got a 0 on the final

I just dont want them to think I cant do the work, or that I slacked off my senior year in AP English

Ya know?
