How bad will this look??

I took 2 ap exams as a sophomore chem and microeconomics. I got a 2 on both exams. Also I got a 600 on the math2 sat and 650 on the chem sat. How bad will these look? Am I out of contention for all ivy league schools?? I got straight A's freshmen year but sophomore year I got 3 B's in honors precalc, honors English, and ap chem. How screwed am I???

If I were you, I definitely would not send the ap scores. If you have time, you could try retaking math and chem, or maybe a subject you’re stronger in. However, I do think your 3 Bs sophomore year are going to hurt because colleges like upward trends. But don’t worry, you are not entirely screwed. Just make sure you work really hard and try to boost your grades junior year. Since I’m guessing you just finished sophomore year, you definitely have time to get some higher ap and SAT scores to compensate.

go with GoldOwl’s advice.

Definitely try to do extremely well in junior year and senior year.

The responses so far have been realistic. But on an optimistic note, you do still have the most “important” year ahead of you. Plus TONS of opportunities to retake whatever tests you may need and prepare further for them (no matter where you stand or where you think your “plateau” is, you can break it and do better if you really need to). There’s the ACT, SAT, other subject tests (or perhaps the same ones), and tons of resources available to prepare through bookstores, online, and even right here on College Confidential (try looking into Xiggi’s prep method).

Though, as it stands, you will need to do better than you have been doing so far in order to be in “consideration” for some of the bigger name schools (Ivy League or otherwise).
The fact remains you have the time to do better though the effort required may be quite something.

thanks for the feedback. but is there any way i choose not to send these scores to colleges sat2’s and ap exams?
