How bad would dropping a class look?

Okay, I am having a really hard time in AP Statistics (I have a low B by some miracle and am not learning anything…she also deducts 15 points from our papers if it is an assignment she had to help us on) and need to get out. I’m already in 7 other AP classes and this is the most stressful to me and frustrating. I’m not learning and I’m not succeeding.

Dropping AP Statistics would mean becoming a teacher’s aide in the college counselor’s office, as there is no regular or honors statistics, nor are there semester-long classes offered during that period.

How bad would it look if I dropped AP Statistics after this semester (I’d get .5 credits, no “withdraw” on my transcript)? I don’t know if I can push through the next 8 weeks of the marking period, much less another 3 marking periods. I feel this would be the best decision for my health (I’d seriously sleep more and stress less) but definitely do not want to compromise my admission into colleges.

If there’s no withdraw on your transcript, can colleges still see it? If not, I don’t see why it would hurt you. In fact, no matter what, it seems like staying in Stats would hurt you more then taking the class, anyway.

I agree, drop stats if it’s giving you a tough time…
And about the 15 point deduction… Isn’t a teacher’s job to help students? I’m not saying to spoon feed their students grades, but still.
