How badly did I screw myself?

So I'm now a junior, but back when I was an uninformed sophomore I made the genius decision to take the World History sat2 having never actually taken World History as a class. I didn't prepare at all, I was simply taking the test for the sake of finding out what the tests were like so I could prepare for the ones I would take in the future. After taking a test based on whatever knowledge I'd accumulated throughout my life I got a score of 560 (which is blatantly horrible), and never cancelled it. This predicament comes out of my own negligence and ill-preparation, but is there anything I can do about it?

Since then, I've taken various other sat2s and the SAT reasoning test itself, receiving scores I'm happy with. The problem lies in the fact that I can't get rid of that one inexplicable score.

How seriously do you think that will be taken come admission time? :(

You're done. your life is over, your going to become a bum.

Im just kidding, dont worry about it. If you worry about it, its gonna hurt you worse than it has. Show colleges that your better than that. Retake it if you really think its going to hurt you (although today is the last day to register for it). Take more sat IIs in the beginning of next year, just dont worry about it, that will kill you more than it has (even though, it really probably hasnt) just stop thinking about it. You can even write a college essay on taking the test, and how it changed you or something

No - don't worry at all, u can choose which SAT 2s you wish to send...for ex. if i take world history, bio and math, and spanish...then i can choose if i want to send bio/math/spanish or world history...the catch is that if u want to send one test...u have to send all the scores from taht specific test...like if u took world history twice, you have to send both scores...but if u take other sat 2s u can send those only as well

I'm not the type to exaggerate things and be overly worried about it, I'm actually very nonchalant in my college admissions process...probably more than I should be.

The issue just came up today and I was curious whether they would even take a serious look at it or not. I'm not going to retake it, given I still don't know anything about world history due to its focus on asia (i took ap euro and US). I guess I'll just focus on other things.

Thanks for the responses, by the way.

Excuse my inability to quote posts on this forum :D

@ helpneededrtenow - is it really like that? I've heard differently but I could very well be wrong. I've already taken chem/mathiic and plan to take spanish/physics on the June test date. My scores on all of those are/should be fine, it's just the world history one that's awful. When I signed up for the WH test i figured you could pick and choose what scores to send as you suggested, but my counselor told me otherwise.

It's not a very big deal, I'm just curious as to how it actually works?

Im pretty sure theyll see the score regardless. And if history isnt one of your strong suits, it could even look good, that you were willing to try to challenge yourself.

ya... i think they r gonna see all ur scores...

but idk, if u did pretty well on the other 3~4 SAT IIs dont worry about it

or u can retake it and get 770+.. imagine if u went from a 560 to an 800^^ thats gonna be pretty sweet?? idk i think so... at least thats some pretty amazing improvement~

- idk...

you could always just retake and cover it up with a higher score...study this time though

retake it and do better yeah

That's what I'm going to do. I think I did terrible on the May 5th one, and I'm planning to take the June 2nd one.

retake or notify the college. lol, you could have created a new account and then used "incomplete record" to your advantage but now it can't help you .

What's this "incomplete record" thing?
