How Badly Do W's Look to USC on a Transfer Transcript

I am a student interested in transferring to USC in fall of 2017. I’ve read that USC prefers students not to have W’s on their transcript and I have three from my first semester, along with a C+, also from that semester. After that, all of my grades have been straight A’s, I retook the classes I got W’s in and I plan to apply with a 3.85 GPA. I’m involved in several clubs as well as a vice president in one and volunteer every week.

Am I basically doomed because of those W’s my first semester even if I do perfectly for the rest of the time I am at this school? Do I have any chance of getting in?

I have been in a similar situation, but honestly, there are MANY people with more W’s who still made it, and it seems though you have improved and are very well-rounded, so don’t fret about it too much! Hopefully, you explained it in your application as to why you got the W’s… it may just be fine

This response it pretty late, but thank you so much!
