How badly does a B- hurt your chances with elite schools?

As my other posts have discussed I had a pretty rough sophomore year, I took way too many AP courses and got a lot of Bs (almost half). In the most difficult class last year (Honors Precalc), I got a B-. I’ve been working really hard this year (just got 7 straight As and plan on continuing this trend). I’ll probably have a 3.7 unweighted GPA by the time I apply to college (along with very solid SATs and extracurriculars on both the state and national level). How badly will my B- affect my chances at some top schools (think Cornell, Michigan, WUSTL).

Oh also I showed improvement in math by getting an high A in Calc this year.

It helps a lot that it was Sophomore year instead of Junior year. Junior year matters more than your freshman and sophomore year combined.

Thanks a lot! Anyone else want to weigh in? I guess I’m still pretty paranoid

I have a friend of mine who got into Dartmouth with a C on their transcript… Y’all are just paranoid

you’ll be fine
