I should note that her senior thesis at Bates was critical to her success. She referenced it in her personal statements and was asked about it in her two PhD interviews (one at HYPS), as well as the program she has just been accepted to.

This is great to know. My older D has applied RD to Bates and my younger D (a junior this year) is already interested. I appreciate your detailed descriptions of your D’s journey from acceptance to post grad!

Thank you for this thread. Your posts helped us as we navigated the process. Thrilled that our son was accepted ED2 today. We are charting new territory here —- our family, including our oldest, attended the same big state school in a much milder climate. Excited for the new path at Bates!
