How beneficial do you think these factors will be for college admissions?

i dont have that much money… my parents make below 30,000 annually

in 4th grade my biological parents abandoned me and i was adopted by my aunt and uncle

i helped work at my aunt and uncles workplace
4.i worked as an intern since freshman year at Vorsteiner ([Welcome to Vorsteiner](http://www.vorsteiner.com))

i am going to be first generation college student

if you guys wanted to know some more statistics
I am a junior taking 3 APs.
I am in top 10 percent of my class
my weighted GPA is like 4.0-4.1 and unweighted GPA 3.9-4.0
i have other stuff such as volunteering and varsity tennis but everyone does that

damn. You have some good hooks there.

^I wouldn’t say so. You have some good essay topics, but no discernible hooks. You’ll get into a great school, I’m sure, anyway.

U DO HAVE good hooks. Whether or not those are hooks..i don’t care. So, shouldn’t u. U’ve shown what the colleges want to see. U’ve that work ethic, and motivation to do good. U r focused. Do well on SAT and I can guarantee u in A LOT of colleges that u intend to apply! ;)

These are pretty good hooks if you want to mention them in essays, etc.

how are these NOT good hooks? i mean, your parents are relatively poor, they abandon you, you work and intern as well. Those are definitely hardships in life that will help you in college admissions

Generally, a hook isn’t overcoming hardships. A hook is something like Olympic athlete, movie star, holding patents, etc., something that makes a school want you.
