<p>i think MLS will definitely become more popular because there are so many kids that play it. The popularity of soccer among kids is a relatively new trend and as the kids grow up MLS will become more popular</p>
<p>I'm going to see NE vs LA today. It should be interesting. Hopefully Beckham plays but I could care less.</p>

<p>But I think the popularity of MLS is increasing and though it probably won't replace the NFL or MLB in the States, it can eventually become mainstream.</p>

<p>Playing soccer in the US is already mainstream and has been for a number of years. If MLS could arrange more exhibitions with European teams to show that it's players can compete with the stars, then I think it would get more popular (DC played a couple good games against Real Madrid and Chelsea in recent years).</p>
