Side note: I have an interview coming up soon; I am just wondering how much weight Princeton puts on these interviews.

Thanks

You’ll never know if you don’t apply.

Well, I’m guessing you already applied :)

Hmm…is there any chance you go to PHU?

I bet your basketball team sucks…

Princeton is a reach for everyone. Keep your fingers crossed and enjoy your senior year  None of us are adcoms and we can’t predict anything… Besides, anyone who applies has a chance.

That’s pretty ignorant, unless your basing the assumption off the hours spent, then I guess it’s somewhat justified.

Its a fairly large reach given your test scores. Don’t get me wrong…they arent bad. However, I seldom see Asians or whites admitted with under a 2300+.

Yes, considering he spends an average of 1 hour per school day at Basketball practice (and that’s not even counting games which would be 2 hours or so minimum (not counting travel and preparation). So in a normal basketball season you’d have say 2 games a week. Which leaves 1 hour for other practice.

Given that he is the “captain” of the team, and thus theoretically the most hard working player (how else would he be able to lead the others?), his lack of practice time, and thus lack of commitment, leads ultimately to the conclusion that his basketball team is not very good. Unless you’re some sort of athletic freak.

I also base this off of the fact that every activity he has listed, with the exception of math, which seems to genuinely be interesting to him, is clearly not something he cares about (1-3 hours a week? That’s like… attending the meetings), and thus potentially done with a “laundry list/resume padding” attitude.

This last point, btw, also probably doesn’t signal good chances overall of getting into any good university, let alone Princeton.

Have a good day! :)
