Yeah, I know the general plot of it already, and I think I’ll enjoy reading it. I don’t think I’ll like it more than King Lear, though.

It’s another play of Shakespeare’s. Basically, a king wants to see how much each of his three daughters love him, so he asks them to tell him how much he loves them. Two of his daughters immediately start professing their undying love for him, but the third daughter (the only one that truly loves him) does not say anything because she believes that love cannot be professed in words. Then the rest of the play is him figuring this out…Really sad ending, though. I won’t ruin it for you! You should read it.

That sounds good, I’ll definitely look into it:) I like Shakespeare’s plays, they make you think, as simplistic as that sounds.

In my AP lit class, we read King Lear together during class. Each of us got speaking parts, but mine was minor (and it was towards the end of senior year) so I was only awake for the first act lol (and not even the complete act). I really regret it now tho

You definitely want to check up Oscar Wilde, then. The Picture of Dorian Gray is amazing, and he’s a great playwright (a lot of connections to politics of the time in his plays, although you’d probably find a couple of modern examples that could relate to the plays).

I think it depends on what kind of subjects you’re interested in. I just read The Pillars of the Earth, but that’s not a book for everyone. It’s around 1,000 pages though, and it gives you a variety of vocabulary:)
