How 'bout that Healthcare?

Lol @pyroza also. Although, we get our water from a well we share with the next house down, powered by our area EMC, and I get a better education at home than most people get in public school, for a fraction of the cost. I read in the paper that the DOT is broke, and that the USPS needs to cut service 1 day a week or it will go bankrupt, and that the EPA just OKed a much-fought over waste treatment plant uphill from a local community.

…I will admit, the government keeps good clocks.

Y’all are blessed, as are just about all Americans. A lot of people don’t even make that much.

lolz we all know healthcare will blow up America and create da nukleuhr wohr againz!!!

What is the silly talk about socialism? No! Trust Federalism.
There are a few things you can do, those who do not agree with the bill, opposed to propogating outraged outcries of “socialism!” and “Obama is the Fourth Antichrist” etc. (not referencing anybody on this board here specifically so don’t get caught up in detail).
1 - Know the States are not pleased with this! There are 37 (or 39) states filing suit against the United States of America [yes, that can be done] and judicial review by the Supreme Court should mesh some things out so that there might be a middleground struck. God knows that middleground has been sought for many many years as the States have struggled with the National Government over “implied” powers (and those powers are granted by the 14th amendment to the States but it’s all up to interpretation as to what those specific powers are in each piece of legislation).
2 - VOTE. If there is one thing this will do…it will raise awareness on the importance of BEING HEARD. This November will be the elections for your House of Representatives. Since I, personally, am not too pleased that they have voted in a $900+ billion (yes, billion) program I don’t really think I’m going to vote for my congressperson if he has supported this bill. The House is the PEOPLE’S vote (as is the Senate - but the House was mostly intended for the people) so make your voices heard!
xx

^ Good point. I can understand being opposed to the bill. But people are going about protesting it the wrong way.

I’m not for it; I’m not against it.

^ Thanks for contributing.

Welcome to the 21st century, America. It’s about time. And thank you, President Obama, for following through on your promise.

The 21st century is only just beginning and it looks to be as highly controversial, if not more than the last 20.

^True, but at least Bush and Cheney won’t be part of it . . .

guys, the healthcare bill is pretty awesome. its obv. and all christians should agree with it- After all, Jesus said he was cool with the healthcare bill. ( I say this all with a straight face)

it will also save us money in the long term to the tune of 138 billion.
Yeah, but ensuring healthcare for all the needy while decreasing the deficit- its so terrible IT may even be socialist.

Don’t know if you recall, but I sure do recall that Bush and Cheney were the start of it.

^Yep. And we’ll be cleaning up that mess for years to come.

“I can’t wait for this bill to start working and go into effect. Then maybe people will shut the hell up and stop making up lies.”

so true.

yeahhhh obamacare :]

^Only problem is, it may never work, then when will people shut up, and even if it did, people wouldn’t shut up.

people better shut up because people are freaking annoying.

[& by people, i mean conservatives ;)]

^ Like .

^^ seconded. I cant believe it’s a problem to have gov. health care as an OPTION for people. No one ever said gov. health care was required…

^^^thirded.

People shutting up would make the world so much more convenient.
