and the kicker: ~3.2 mich GPA.

So I was deffered a few weeks ago and havent heard anything. But, first semester this year I got all As except one B in an AP math (which is weighted to an A). My counselor sent them my grades informally Monday morning and will send the official transcript in January. When can I expect to hear back? What can I expect? Any help or anything you know about other defferals and senior year grades would be awesome. Thanks and go blue!

nothing? no word on how much chances go up with a good first semester?

myccname, after seeing those grades, I think all of my reservations as an adcom would be put to rest. I'm actually quite surprised they deferred you in the first place. But after this, I really don't see how they could keep you out of umich.

thanks for the input chibearsfan, I am not too surprised, with the emphasis on grades a 3.1 or 3.2 from out of state probably wasn't going to cut it.

Does anyone know someone who was deffered last year or in previous years? When can I expect to hear?

I'm almost the same as you except lower test scores, I have a 3.0 GPA prob like 3.2 michigan GPA and my senior year grades so far are all A's with 1 B in expository writing, also weighted to an A. I also double enrolled in history with economics and law and american society and am taking AP calculus, hopefully they see this before making a decision.

I too am in a similar situation. ~3.2 Mich GPA and a 1550. I also got all As except for one B senior year. Still waiting to hear.

So were any of you deffered last year? anyone from previous years have mediocre grades freshman-jr year and very good grades sr year? what was your result?

and by 1490, you mean out of 1600 right??

ya- 1490 of 1600 2190/2400

ill edit my post to reflect that, thanks

3.3 UM GPA, 29 ACT, deferred. All A's, one B (AP English).

We're all in the same boat (except my test score is lower, lol).

by apples, do you mean the fruits of your labor? that was pretty clever, i must admit

anyway, your SAT is extremely high compared with your disgusting GPA. it really then kinda depends on your ECs, cuz your gpa and sat kind of balance. in any case, you got at least a majority shot, id say

ps, my stats are sorta similar, low gpa, medium/high sat (3.3, 2050)

A2, good to see the high grades- hopefully they just deffered us because they are deffering extra this year and we'll hear good things in the spring.

kenneth, hahaha. "disgusting gpa," ouch. did you get a descision yet? good luck.

actually, is it possible to check my status online?

pretty curious right now

if you have a UMID go to wolverineaccess.umich.edu and set up a friend account using that number and your email address. you got a 2050 so you should be able to figure it out. hahaha. look around here is you cant. if you dont know your umid call them tomorrow and get it.

i see... when would they have sent me a UMID?? i keep all my college stuff together and that ID is nowhere to be found

ps, my 2050 was a huge fluke (shoulda been way HIGHER)

800 math (pretty good), 690 writing (eh.. its ok), 560 CR (DOFGHD PSOFSD N FPSDIUFHP FDIUF* DP(SFuDF sDFJ :SDHP DSpf8y sorry i was cleaning the vomit off of my keyboard)

hahaha, take it again then. the umid should be in one of the emails. if not then call them.
