How can a chinese get a 33+

Hi.
I'm from china and I'm applying for amrican colleges this year.

I've took my first ACT in April and got a 30 (english 30 math 36 reading 24 science 30). I' gonna take another test in October since there is no test in Hongkong in September. I math is good but my reading sucks. I never ever am able to finish the last reading passage. So I'm asking for some advice to improve my timing. I always feel like I don't remember what the passage is talking about after a quick reading. So I have to spend a lot of time to read again.

As an international student, I need to be really pop out in order to get into my dream school, which is Pomona. So I really need a 33+ in the September's test.

I'll be soooooo appreciated if anyone can give me some advices !
BTW, please forgiveme being logically disordered. I really need to improve my english a lot.

Your grammar is pretty good for a foreign student. For reading try to read the first paragraph, the first and last line of each following paragraph, and then the last paragraph. Then attack the questions in order from most specific to most general. You will probably have trouble with the questions that asks you to replace a word and gives you a bunch of choices and asks for which is least acceptable. Just keep in the mind the three other choices that are wrong, will be very very similar.
