I’m a junior in high school and I think the thing I am most worried about is becoming involved in things when I attend college. 3-8th grade I was always VERY involved in theatre, but I decided to take a break for three years(meaning I will be back in theatre my senior year of high school, but only as a stage manager) because I wanted to focus on grades. That saying, I have not been very involved these past three years as much as I was in elem. and middle school (ex. theatre, art clubs, beta clubs, honor society, builders club, etc, etc). The only thing I have done in high school was Key Club, and I only began that this year. I’m afraid that I’m going to stick with these habits in college, and I don’t want to approach my senior year of college regretting all of the things I didn’t do. I want to join a sorority, theatre, debate, chorus, student council, etc. I have just forgotten how to really go about it, and I’m scared that I will be too afraid to put myself out there after being in an academic nutshell for four years. Please help! Will I have plenty to join? Will it all be easy to join?
There will be plenty to join…there are student councils, theater, debate, chorus etc. As a freshman I would say to pick one or two at first and then see how it goes. How to do it? There will be a activities fair sometime early in your freshman year. Get into about various activities and then attend a meeting or two to see what is interesting to you.
