So, I got accepted into UMASS Amherst, and I paid the enrollment fee and even registered for the student orientation. But then I got accepted to my top choice school, Northeastern University. This is where I would like to go. So, how can I go about cancelling my enrollment at UMASS? I know that I CANNOT pay the deposit for Northeastern until I cancel my enrollment at UMASS. I did return the enrollment form saying I accept their offer. So, how can I go about this?
I was thinking I'll send an e-mail letting them know that I will not be attending due to having been accepted at the school of my dreams, and thank them for expecting me and for the time they took to review my application.
Do I ask them to reply back informing me of the status of my enrollment? Or do I just leave it at that and go ahead and pay the deposit for northeastern university?

This is the kind of thing that your high school college counselor can help you manage. I think you leave out the part where you tell College A that you are not coming because your “dream school” accepted you…all they need to know is that you are not coming.

I am not in high-school. I am a junior student applying as a transfer. And thank you for that. I can definitely leave that part out if the outcome is the same anyway.
