How can I cancel my score?

Wahh.. I took the SAT today (April 1st). I ran out of time on the essay, and it just went downhill from there. -.- It had really hard math questions too

I didn't pick up a form from the testing center, but I'd still like to cancel my scores. Do I just send in a letter? Or can I print the form from the collegeboard website?

You have to send a written request using overnight mail and make sure they get it before Wednesday.

I wish we could start discussing so I would know whether to cancel or not.

Do you know where I can find the information on where to send the letter to and what I should write in the letter?

Please, anyone? I know I need to send the request in by tonight, but I can't find the address or form

yea can someone please elaborate on how to cancel scores?Does the mail need to be postmarked by today?

no as long as they get it by wednesday

I really dont know what the address is, maybe use this:

<a href="http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/contact.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/contact.html</a></p>

I took the April test today, and I wasn't satisfied with my performance. However, I wanted to go back home and rest before I made up my mind, so I asked the proctor for specific information regarding cancellation after the test. Because I didn’t immediately cancel the score, she did not give me a request to cancel form, but instead incorrectly gave me the phone number for the test administrator. I then went online only to discover I should have gotten a request to cancel form. Does anyone know if a request to cancel form is necessary, and if so where can I get one now that the test is over? Or, perhaps can I mail in a self-made cancellation form, and what type of information should I include and the specific address to mail it?

The proctor read a "listen carefully" section which regarded canceling scores. She said that a "written request" needs to be sent to Collegeboard using express mail and received no later than Wednesday. I do not think you need a specific form . .. maybe just a letter with the headline "PLEASE CANCEL MY APRIL 1 SAT SCORES"

i faxed a sheet of paper with all the above things in sharpy wednesday itself for my math IIC last year, and it worked fine

what's the benefit of cancelling scores if you didn't ask that your scores be reported anywhere? My son took the test yesterday with a fever and cold and is understandably worried that he didn't do his best.

I am assuming your son will want to take the SAT's again and that at some point in the future he will request that his scores be sent to designated colleges. When that happens, all scores will be sent to the designated colleges including his scores from the April 1st test (if he does not cancel them). In any event, the colleges normally only consider the top score on each section even if they come from different sittings of the exam.

My son also took it yesterday and also was under the weather and feels he did not do his best. He will take the SAT again in June and has not asked to cancel yesterday's scores. He thinks he did pretty well in at least one section and reasons he will be able to "keep" that score and perhaps improve on his other two sections in June.

Good luck to your son!

If I chose to send my scores to really, really selective colleges and I'm thinking that they are going to be pretty bad after perusing this forum, should I change the score recipients?

If I let my bad score stay, retake, get a better score, send that one, will the bad score hurt me?

Will a really bad score on any section make my application look unappealing if I manage to eventually reach my best composite score goal? I'm curious as to how I actually did ....but I'm worried that, eventhough the schools I really want to apply to have implicitly stated that they review the best composite score, the horrendous math and reading score will look kind of iffy. Also, does it really make a big difference is I take it 3 times and not 2 times? Are 3 attempts too too many?

should I cancel or not???
