How can I evaluate what I really want to do?

Right now I am ar RIT in the Engineering Technology program and I dont plan on being in engineering technology next year.

The reason is because I don't like the "technician" title that goes along with it.

How much of a change would engineering be from ET?

On the other hand, I am thinking about changing my major to Marketing. I like marketing because it can be creative like engineering is.

Any suggestions?

Can you take some general breadth elective classes in business to get a sense?

I suggest majoring in a traditional engineering program (ME, EECS, ChemE) or business versus engineering technology.

I want to go into Mech E but I know its going to be a lot more work and stress.

Which is why I am also looking to transfer. I feel that I would not be as comfortable being 7 hours from home and being stressed out.

More work and stress now, yields more reward later on.

See how this semester/year goes…if you’re still struggling at the end of the current year term, either switch majors to something easier for you, like marketing, at your current school or transfer.
