how can i find my chances?

does anyone know what a good book/source/method is to learn sat probablility and things like permutations, combinations, etc...?

barrons math iic has all that stuff - permutations, probability - but if you're looking to improve the regular sat math, try getting the barrons sat book (big, fat white book) if you're looking to LEARN the material + want practice doing that specific type of problem...

^^^ he's right

(s)he :) (10 char)

The only method that I think you need to know for SATI (from my experience) is the fundamental counting theorem (or something like that) and how to apply it to various types of problems.

practice, practice, and again practice!

what's the fundamental counting theorum?
(it wasn't even on wikipedia)

that's not the technical term ... sorry (counting principle i think)

If one event can happen in A ways, and another can happen in B ways, then there are A x B ways of doing both (provided that they are independent, meaning one's outcome does not affect the other outcome).

With the above and some logic (so you don't need combinations), you can solve any RED book problem and probably most blue book ones (haven't finished all the tests).

I'll post some problems that illustrate this from the math section if you want.
