how can i find scholorships in my situation?

i'm 21, and am a community college student. i have a 3.89 gpa with 30 credits (40 credits if you count 2 ap exams where i got a score of a 3). i had a 2.89 gpa in high school, i did poorly my first 2 years but my last 2 years i got mostly As. i have a 1450 on my sat i think, i know it's near the minimum of what is considered average. i only took it once and i think i can easily do a lot better.

anyway, i wanted to know if it was possible to find good scholarships at this point. i don't have any money for college, but i'm smart and i feel really frusterated because i wish i would of done well my 4 years of high school and got a full ride like some of my friends i know.

i'm thinking of transferring to a university next year. or stay and get an AA degree. either way, i am basically a transfer student.

Good news / Bad news:

The good news is, once you have a certain number of credits (varies by university) merit scholarships for transfers students are usually based on your college GPA and high school grades and test scores are not considered.

The bad news is, merit scholarships for transfer students are much more limited than for freshmen.

Please go and discuss this with an advisor at your community college. In some places, there are scholarships specifically for community college transfers. The advisor at your CC may know if this is the case in your situation.

Ask you advisor if your CC has a Phi Theta Kappa or Golden Key chapter. With a 3.89 GPA you would qualify for membership and many colleges offer merit scholarships for transfer students that are members.
