Hi.
I'm a sophomore in high school, so far I have a 3.43 GPA. I want to attend an Ivy League school so how can I increase my GPA to a 4.0? thanks

buy the principal a corvette and say something like "Hey, you know how sometimes friends do nice stuff for friends?"

He'll give you the 4.0.

Study. (ten char)

Hah! Dummy.

UW?

Not possible since you already lost it, but for junior senior study a bunch

Study a lot.

Here's some helpful advice from my professor:

"The key, now I stress this with the utmost importance, is not to suck."

Lol, it's like your virginity. Once it's gone, you can't get it back.

You've already lost the "chance" for a 4.0, so just work hard to get a higher GPa.

just work harder and take everything seriously...i guess

"Lol, it's like your virginity. Once it's gone, you can't get it back."

Too bad you can now =(

Hack the server, and it is all good

Work hard. I had a 2.7. Now a 4.0 =] Really work hard on every assignment/test

lol there are lots of options.

Lots of work

Do the things that are most effective, study hard, do all assignments, extra credits stuff, and take the harded cirriculum

take as many advanced courses that are weighted as possible and do real good

participate passionately in lots of ecs

less work less recomended and won't get you into ivy but'll get you a 4.0
1. go to slow retarded school and shine
2. take all easy classes and get the easy A
3. pay a hacker to change your grades

Stupid suggestions

die and be born again as an asian, assuming you believe in reincartnation

less drastic try to get adopted by asian parents

pay off the teacher

seriously though, work hard. I rarely study but have a 4.0. My secret,I pay attention in class. Nearly 80% of test material comes from class notes, lectures, and disscussions. And the rest from the book.

is it possible to even obtain a 4.0 after youve already went down in GPA?

the OP means a 4.0 from now on, pprn00dle

Seriously though. Ditch your social life. Work as hard as you can and go after things you love doing. Also, you need to find one to three ecs that you love, and kick butt at them. The 4.0 will help, but your ecs are very important too. Figure out what you're working for (why do you want that 4.0?) and keep that in mind throughout your carreer.

But honestly, you need to work harder. New research indicates that talent or success only comes from one's love for the activity, and not from genetic intelligence. I posted the link in the ECs thread, but I'll post it here as well.

is anyone else a bit offended by insane_membrane's post?

Some parts of it were tasteless, but with his reasonable conclusion, I didn't think much of it. Some of it went a little too far.

You'll never get UW 4.0, W is pretty easy if your school grades AP and H classes on 5 scale and Prep on 4 scale. But as somebody said, UW GPA is like verginity, once you got below 4.0, you'll never be able to come back. Even if you will get only one B in one semester (and you take 6 classes each year, semester school, 4 years), your final UW GPA will be 3.98 :)

i'm not.

you CCer's have to recognize when someone is being serious and when they aren't. I'm asian and not offended in the least. In fact its kind of funny. seems no1 on CC is ready for a laugh anymore.

how would that post be offensive in the least?
