What do I need to do to get admission into straight medical programs at:

University of Southern California {Baccalaureate MD}
Georgetown
University of Missouri Kansas City

I have a 4.0 GPA, President of Future Business Leaders of America, Vice President of Debate, Vice President of the Class of 2011, and have 300 Volunteer Hours at a Hospital.

Is it likely for me to get into Georgetown's Straight Med Program?

Even if you are admitted, you must meet the same college grades and MEDCAT scores as other applicants to the medical school. If you read the fine print, the dual BA/MD programs always state automatic entry “If qualified”.

There are some overseas schools that have a “shortened” med school program. A friend’s daughter entered right out of HS. I think the school is in Budapest.

U of Miami does it too. I think these programs are much harder to get into than just getitng into the college. They look for extremely qualified people.

I definitely know that it’s way harder to get into than regular college…they have 1000+ applicants and only take 20-30 kids. what hey…why not try?

but im trying to do that. it eases the stresses of applying to medical school after undergrad…

All of these BS/MD programs require that you keep your grades above some cut-off to continue on to the MD program, but not all of them require you to take the MCAT. Which is huge in my opinion - one less standardized test to sweat over; just focus on your classes and grades.

^^I believe that the UCSD BS/MD program does not require the MCAT. And I’m sure there are others. I suggest search old threads and ask questions here:
